So, while were camping, the time came to transition Alex to...

her big girl bed!
At our house, big girl beds mean no more soothers!  I was worried about her first night, but she crawled into my lap on the rocking chair and sobbed for about five minutes, then she took a deep breath, pushed herself off my lap, crawled into bed and slept through the night!

First Day of School

Last week Caitlyn had her first day of her second year of preschool.
I don't know who's happier that preschool's started again, Caitlyn, Alex or Steffan!

We were super-lucky to have the use of a friends trailer for three weeks this summer.  I don't know how we're over going to go back to "real" camping.  But, it was awesome.
Keys to a great camping trip:
1.  Messy, delicious food!

 

 

2.  Awesomely fun playgrounds, with all the best toys that have long since been outlawed in the city!

Caitlyn:  Look mom, I made you a cake!
Mom:  Oh, great.  What's in it?
Caitlyn:  Flour, sugar, salt, eggs, and ants for seasoning!
Mom:  Ants?
Caitlyn:  Yes, for seasoning.

Caitlyn dressed herself in the tutu and sneakers.  There's something about a girl in a tutu stomping on ants to make a cake that is just so quintessentially four years old!

Sunday School

Grandpa:  Who was that old guy that died of a heart attack?
Caitlyn:  Jesus.
Papa:  No Caitlyn, Jesus did not die of a heart attack.
Caitlyn:  I mean God.
Mama:  Caitlyn, how's Sunday School?
Caitlyn give a thumbs up!

Alex is Two!!

 

This week, our sweet baby turned two years old!

She's the most adorable little thing. She's recently started speaking in hysterical full sentences.
At her two year check up:
Doctor:  Is she...
Alex:  'Scuse me mama, where's Caitin?
Doctor:  I was gong to ask if she's putting two words together!

She loves her sister and they play together quite nicely most of the time.
She loves to attempt to tell knock, knock jokes.
She loves her food, especially fruits & vegetables.  Her favorite vegetable right now is cauliflower.  When you can't pronounce "L", that turns into Cauwyfower.

She got a great birthday party.  Last weekend, we went partied at the farm, complete with "Watamewon!!!".  It was a great day with two great-great-aunts, a great-grandpa, a great-grandma and a bunch of other family.

The day after her birthday.

Mama:  Alex, how old are you?
Alex:  I two.  I blew out my candles!
