Mama: Tonight we get to go trick or treating. We're going to go to the houses and say, "trick-or-treat", and then the people will give you candy, and then you'll say, "Thank you!".
Alex: Will you carry me?
Mama: No.
Alex: Oh....will you hold my hand?
Mama: Absolutely darling.
