Alex: Mama, do we have relish?
Mama: I'm not sure, I can check...
Alex: Well, I don't want any...just ketchup & mustard.

Dinner Conversation Hilarity
Mama: we have a problem, the library says we have 31 books checked out, but when I returned them, there were only 30!
Caitlyn: They totally lied!
Mama: Sure Caitlyn, if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a rooster!
Alex: Mama, roosters don't quack, they say, "cock a doodle doo"!
Mama: thank you, peanut gallery!

Alex: Help....help.....help
Papa finally goes in....she's sitting in the middle of her bed.
Papa: What's wrong?
Alex: I'm stuck on top of my blankets and I can't get under them!

5 Years Old
Caitlyn turned five yesterday!
She got swim goggles, which she is currently wearing to eat lunch!
I can't believe my little princess is five years old.
Caitlyn, I am so proud of you! You are a responsible, well mannered, helpful little girl. It's amazing to think that just 6 years ago you didn't exist, and now I can't imagine my life without you! You have a fabulous sense of humor and make us laugh every day. You are a fabulous older sister. You are fiercely protective of your sister, whether she needs it or not!
I hope you have a fantastic year!

Tea Party
Recently, Caitlyn was invited to a tea party. Alex was devastated that she was too little to go. So, I made her a little tea party. As we sat down to eat, she said, "THIS, is a tea party?"

Thankful Thursday - Laughter
Conversations like this make me laugh every day!
Caitlyn: For my birthday I want chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate icing and a chocolate chip on top.
Alex: For my 2 1/2 birthday, I want watermelon cupcakes
Caitlyn: Oh Alex, you blow my mind!

Thankful Thursday
One of my favorite bloggers does Thankful Thursdays.
In an effort to focus on gratitude this year, and force myself to blog regularly, I’ve decided to give it a shot.
This week, she’s grateful for a husband who changes diapers which made me think of two things I’m grateful for.
1. The end of diapers is in sight! I’m sure we’re still months away, but I’m grateful for little girls who are growing up! As much as I love cuddling babies, I LOVE kids. The things that come out of their mouths make us laugh everyday. We can do fun things together. They help around the house. Being spontaneous is possible again, we no longer have to pack up half the house to leave for a day out.
2. A husband who cooks. I like cooking when I have time, but right now, time is in short supply. I am super-grateful to have a husband who puts creative, nutritious, delicious dinners on the table at least 5 days a week. This also means I get delicious lunches every day from the leftovers! There’s something about being cooked for that makes me feel loved and nurtured. It’s also an amazing thing for my girls to see that cooking can be fun, easy, and enjoyable.
